Dear SPH Community,
I am writing to share a staffing update and highlight a member of our SPH community who is integral to the School’s efforts to build our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion office and continue the important work being done there. In her interim position, Jai-Me Potter-Rutledge has been a driving force for expanding the DEI Office and the School’s ongoing work to improve our culture and foster a climate of inclusivity. As a result, I am happy to share that this will no longer be an interim role; Jai-Me will continue as our Assistant Dean for DEI.
Jai-Me joined Brown in 2018, first as the Manager of the Diversity and Inclusion office, and later taking on the role of inaugural Director of the Health Equity Scholars program. Jai-Me’s commitment to health equity and institutional diversity is evident through her support of MPH students, her experience as a Teaching Associate at the Warren Alpert Medical School, her service on a number of University-wide DEI committees, and in her own research as a doctoral candidate at Salve Regina University.
I have no doubt that Jai-Me will continue this crucial work and remain committed to the development of School-wide strategies that will foster a diverse and inclusive working and learning community. Please join me in congratulating Jai-Me!
Sincerely,
Ronald Aubert Ph.D., MSPH
Interim Dean, School of Public Health
