Dear SPH Community, I am excited to share the news that Brown, Care New England, and Lifespan have entered into an aligned research collaboration agreement that will establish a unified approach to administering health and medical research. Please follow this link to the news release that was issued earlier today.
While this is just an initial step toward an aligned research infrastructure, it’s an important milestone and one that has been decades in the making. For many years, it has been clear to our researchers and research-support staff that better cooperation between Brown, CNE, and Lifespan would improve their productivity and allow them to focus on their work.
I will be serving on the four-person Joint Executive Council as the representative from SPH, and I anticipate that faculty and research staff will be engaged in planning efforts and subcommittees, as they were earlier this year. I will keep the SPH community informed as our work progresses, and I welcome your questions.
I am confident that in partnership with Dean Mukesh Jain and the leadership from CNE and Lifespan, we will be able to advance this collaboration to achieve our shared goals. We believe that the agreement and the alignment of our research operations will help all three entities be more responsive, nimble, and innovative.
Please follow the link provided below for more details about this agreement. I look forward to sharing updates with you as we move forward.
Sincerely,
Ronald Aubert Ph.D., MSPH
Interim Dean, Brown University School of Public Health
