As I shared in my email to all of you on September 20, Dr. Uché Blackstock and her team at Advancing Health Equity (AHE) are conducting an organizational assessment of the Brown School of Public Health to assist us on our journey to becoming a more diverse, inclusive, and racially-equitable institution.
The information-gathering portion of the assessment is ongoing. AHE conducted one-on-one interviews with School and University leadership, and they have been leading focus groups with volunteers from the SPH community — thank you to everyone who has given their time so far. I am now asking you to please complete the Brown Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Anti-Racism Survey, which can be found at this link:
The survey is designed to gather insights and feedback on the current state of diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism from all SPH faculty, staff, students, and recent alumni.
Your responses and feedback will go directly to AHE; results will be reported as a summary, without attribution, and your answers will be held in strict confidence. No one at SPH will have access to your individual survey responses.
Your opinions and experiences are important. We would appreciate you completing the survey by the end of the day on Monday, November 1, 2021.
On behalf of Dr. Uché Blackstock and her colleague Candice Robinson, I thank you in advance for your participation and feedback.
My best,
Ashish K. Jha, MD, MPH
Dean, School of Public Health
Professor of Health Services, Policy & Practice
