The Office of the Dean executes the vision of the school’s leadership.

The Dean’s Office is the administrative and operational center of the Brown University School of Public Health. It is pivotal to advancing the dean’s strategic vision, supporting faculty and students, and marshaling cutting-edge research in public health.

The Dean’s Office, in partnership with the School’s Executive Committee, is also responsible for developing and implementing academic policies, overseeing curriculum development, and managing academic and research programs. It is involved in fundraising and alumni relations, bolstering the growth of the school and the strategic priorities of the dean.

The Dean

Dr. Francesca L. Beaudoin, an accomplished physician-scientist and public health leader, has led the Brown University School of Public Health since January 1, 2026.

Brown has been my home for nearly two decades as an emergency physician, doctoral student, faculty member and academic dean. It is a community whose collective efforts serve our state, our nation and the world. That collaboration among faculty, staff and students is foundational to the School of Public Health’s success: it is integral to our mission and the impact we will continue to make.
