Changes to the Long-Term Care Q&I Center

By Jennifer Tidey, Associate Dean for Research

The Center for Long Term Care Quality & Innovation will be fully embedded within the Center for Gerontology and Healthcare Research.

I am pleased to share an important update that reflects the efforts of SPH centers to remain focused on new and emerging trends in public health and the broader academic community.

After deep engagement with relevant center and department leadership, I am pleased to share that the Center for Long Term Care Quality & Innovation (Q&I) will be fully embedded within the Center for Gerontology and Healthcare Research (CGHCR). This formal integration reflects an administrative alignment intended to strengthen our research infrastructure in aging and long-term care — an area of strategic importance to the school and university — while also streamlining the school’s center structure.

Rosa Baier

In light of this transition, Rosa Baier will continue her tremendously important and impactful work fostering partnerships between researchers and healthcare providers in a newly defined leadership role as the associate director of Long-Term Care Quality & Innovation within CGHCR. This reflects our commitment to sustaining the collaborative, applied research model that has distinguished the Q&I’s team’s work over the past 10 years. Additionally, staff affiliated with Q&I will now be affiliated with CGHCR.

Rosa’s leadership and commitment to innovation in long-term care have been instrumental to Q&I’s success and national reputation. Since its founding, Q&I has secured national funding, built effective provider partnerships and advanced a model of engaged, pragmatic scholarship that informs care and policy. We are confident that her continued leadership role will further enrich CGHCR and enhance the vital research being done there.

We look forward to the continued growth and success of these integrated efforts and to seeing the school's portfolio of research aimed at improving the health and care of older adults further elevated through this merger.

Sincerely,

Tidey Signature
