Dear Colleagues and Friends,
As we close out the academic year, I offer my sincere appreciation for the work you’ve done, but also for the way you’ve continually shown up for one another. This year has been unlike any other in my two decades at Brown, or in the life of our institution.
Even while navigating profound grief within our Ever True community, you continued to move forward with resilience, purpose and a deep commitment to improving public health. Across the school, you keep momentum going – strengthening the impact of our work in the communities we serve and using research and education to drive meaningful changes in policy and practice.
Together and by putting students first, we continued preparing and supporting the next generation of public health leaders who will sustain and strengthen this field long into the future. All of this is why I remain so grateful for the people of this school and so proud to be part of this community.
As always, Commencement and Reunion Weekend brought a tremendous sense of joy, pride and celebration to our campus. Thank you to all of you who worked so hard to make the weekend possible. Watching the Class of 2026, their families, our alumni, faculty, staff and partners all come together was a powerful reminder of what this school and community are all about.
I am deeply grateful for all that you do, and I am so proud to lead this special community.
Warmly,

Francesca L. Beaudoin, M.D., Ph.D.
Dean, School of Public Health
