Dear SPH Community,

It is a true honor to be appointed the next dean of this outstanding School of Public Health. I am thrilled and humbled by this opportunity to serve you, our incredible students, faculty and staff, as you advance our essential public health mission.  

Throughout my time here at SPH, and especially over the last five months as interim dean, I have witnessed the thoughtfulness and ingenuity you bring to your work each day. In the face of mounting challenges to public health, you have remained committed to improving the health of individuals and communities all around the world. You have also remained committed to serving, and supporting, each other in a way that is uniquely Brown.

As a school we have navigated exceptionally challenging times guided by a shared purpose. As your dean, I look forward to ensuring stability and continuing this momentum as we shape the future of public health. 

Because of all of you, the future for our school is very bright. As we head into Commencement and Reunion Weekend, I look forward to seeing many of you as we cheer on our new graduates, reconnect with our alumni and celebrate the end to another great academic year.
