Season’s Greetings

By Dean Ashish K. Jha

Dear colleagues,

As the holiday season reaches its peak, I hope everyone is feeling a sense of joy and anticipation for the extended winter break. In the spirit of the season, I want to offer my personal gratitude to each of you for your hard work, positive impact and ongoing dedication to the school and to public health throughout this year.

Your commitment to our students, colleagues and communities across the globe continues to inspire me and countless others. Whether in the classroom, through research, or behind the scenes helping to keep things moving forward, your efforts make an incredible difference and I am proud to be part of this superb team that is Brown SPH.

This year has had its challenges but also many achievements. Through it all, you have demonstrated exceptional professionalism and care. It is because of your collective efforts that we continue to thrive and provide the very best for our students, the university and the world.

I hope you have the opportunity to rest, recharge and savor moments with loved ones during this holiday season. May the season bring you the sparkle of good cheer, peace, rejuvenation and the chance to reflect on the many ways you’ve contributed to our mission.

Thank you again for everything you do. As we step into 2025, public health will face a host of new challenges and uncertainties. However, because of all of you, I am optimistic about the possibilities and the continued progress that the new year will bring to our entire community and those we serve. We will approach 2025 and beyond with the same commitment to science and evidence, with courage and conviction, as we always have.

I look forward to 2025 and being alongside all of you as we tackle new challenges and continue to make the world a healthier place.

Wishing you all a wonderful holiday season!

Sincerely,

Ashish K. Jha, M.D., MPH
