Dear colleagues,
I am happy to share a leadership update for our Master of Public Health program. With Karen Andes on leave, Liz Tobin-Tyler has agreed to step in as interim director of the MPH program, effective immediately.
Liz’s previous experience overseeing the MPH/MPA program for several years makes her an ideal fit for this interim position. In Karen’s absence, Liz will oversee the fantastic work being done in all academic aspects of the MPH programs, including admissions, dual degree programs, concentrations, curriculum development, academic advising and student theses. She will continue to ensure growth and academic rigor within the programs while maintaining a specific focus on consistency in content, instruction, and student outcomes across the various programs. Among the many responsibilities of the role, Liz will manage MPH recruitment and admissions and work collaboratively with the associate and assistant deans of education to continue developing strategic approaches for MPH offerings.
Although Karen will certainly be missed during her leave, I have complete confidence that Liz will excel in this interim role until Karen’s return. Please join me in thanking Liz for stepping up with her expertise and experience to help the school and offering her a warm welcome as she steps into this position.
Sincerely,
Ashish K. Jha, M.D., MPH
Dean, School of Public Health
Professor of Health Services, Policy and Practice
